Happy New Year to Me!
This is the year I plan to finally finish “More to Love” and share it with the world!
“More to Love” has spent 10 years in a box in the attic…
After a transformational trip to Italy, I spent the entire summer drawing again,
just for pleasure, with no thought of ever showing my work to anyone.
I hadn’t had such a magical feeling of creative pleasure since I was a girl with my doodle pad!
And then something happened:
I dared to take the box down and see if my idea could be revised…
and its been calling to me since then.
Somehow as I’ve gotten older and my own children have grown,
the little girl who used to live inside me has returned,
the one whose greatest joy was coloring ,
the one who truly thought that if she drew something it could come to life.
Why not use this new year to redraw & recolor all of the old illustrations,
revise & streamline all of the old writings, and see if I can finally get it published?
My 5 year old self would clearly tell anyone who listened that she was going to be an artist when she grew up.
This year I’ll be that grown-up!
