Now that I am committed to re-illustrating this entire book, I’m completely absorbed with learning Corel Painter. My last experience with digital illustration left me with a look that didn’t reflect the energy & animation of real, messy media. hopefully I’ll be able to create a look that is as close to real paint, pastel and colored pencil as possible , but with the flexibility of doing multiple versions and revisions. looking at this experiment with adding chalk to a sketch, I find it hard to tell the difference between real chalk and digital: this is going to be tremendous fun!
