I know, this is not my usual polished style, nor is it my usual plus-size, self-esteem theme.
Instead, this week is a view directly into my sketchbook, where I scribble over & over until a form, a face, a story emerges.
I am at a bit of an artist’s block with working on illustrations for my next book…so I’m grateful to just play with art supplies without worrying about publishing the final product, except here in my blog.
This weeks “Illustration Friday” theme is Infinite.
What is Illustration Friday?
According to their website: “Illustration Friday is a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation.”
My thoughts on the infinite were of the endless line of mother to child to mother to child, stretching back centuries, millenniums, long before we lost their names, our mothers stretch back in time, and our children and their unborn descendants stretch forward.
And I thought of those wonderful nesting dolls, with the tiny, tiny baby in the center…
If you drop by from Illustration Friday, I appreciate your comments and/or artist’s feedback.
Heck, if you drop by from anywhere I appreciate your comments!

Hi Elizabeth! I looked for your book at Barnss and Noble yesterday, and then saw your message. I will order it from Amazon when I get home from my trip. I so love your drawings and your thoughts on size.
This is lovely, and your whole blog is very inspiring. I am also a high school art teacher. I have just begun to explore illustration more fully, and I am having a lot of fun with it.
What a beautiful illustration and I love this style!
I love this picture-love the style.
Stopping by from SITS…fabulous blog!
You have a great blog and I think the drawing epitomizes your theme perfectly. I envy your ability to sketch faces and human bodies!
I'm not sure what IF is, but I'm dropping by from SITS. You are a fabulous artist and I love this picture and the inspiration behind it.
Hope you have a great weekend!

thank you everyone. It is truly my pleasure to share my art & words with you!
Wonderful…you're quite the talent! I paint my pictures with words. The only thing I can draw is a stick figure…
