PJ, there is a new movement among doctors & nutritionists called "health at every size" that honors the fact skinny doesn't always mean healthy. You can in fact be healthy (excercise, eat nutritious food, have a great wonderful life) and have the larger body that you have been blessed with. Check out some of the links in my sidebar! and keep going to Curves, and let your husband know what other kinds of *treats* you prefer!

I love this illustration! I practice martial arts and wear a gi. I'm nearly ready to be promoted to blue belt just like the one wrapped around this beautiful woman's waist. Thank you sharing your message in all the different ways that you express yourself, SITStah Girl! I love that you included a powerful fighter girl and that you're featuring her in your next book.

This is just the type of blog I need! I was just talking today with the owner of the Curves that I go to and I was telling her about how my self-esteem is lower than nothing because even though I exercise like crazy, I can't seem to get my head around eating right. I'm always losing a half inch here and three quarters of an inch there, and even an inch somewhere else. My pounds are sticking to me. I know that muscle weighs more than fat, and all of that, but I know I don't eat right, so that just keeps condemning me and the more I tell my hubby I want to lose weight the more cookies and candy he sits by my chair. I tell myself he's being thoughtful, but sometimes I think he's just testing me and being mean. Anyway, I need your blog to give me the positivity, so I will definitely be following you. Thank you SITS for featuring this young lady's blog!

wonderful. I remember as a child being taken out of my ballet class because I was bigger than the other girls. I remember constantly being told how I would be so pretty "if" I lost weight etc. etc. I look at myself now: in graduate school for education, a mom, an artist; I have traveled the world, I have a great boyfriend;-) my point....I never stopped living my life. I love that I am 38 years old and still discovering who I am everyday. I consider myself beautiful and blessed and powerful just like that woman in your image.
