Love Story
Love knows all sizes.

Oh romance!
It is so much fun to get swept up in stories filled with
passion and drama, gowns and glamour,
star-crossed destiny and tragic desire…
Since childhood we’ve learned from fairy tales that the most beautiful Princess wins the heart of the handsome Prince and lives happily ever.
In the long-ago-and-far-away land we actually live in, however,
we’ve also learned that the most beautiful princesses
are the thin princesses.
It’s so easy to think that we will never find Prince Charming or experience love until we go on a diet and drop a few pounds.
Even the most sensible, confident woman might occasionally believe her dreams can’t possibly come true until she shrinks into a smaller gown!
But here is another love story that is not a fantasy:
The heart’s desire comes in infinite forms.
People of all sizes and shapes fall in mad, crazy, passionate, fairy-tale love every single day.
Romance is just as real whether the Princess wears a size 2 or 12 or 22!
The True Love Story is quite simple:
Those who love you, love all of you, heart and mind, body and soul.
And everybody has a chance at happily ever after.

I love the premise behind your blog. I think all women, at one point or another, fall into the trappings of insecurity of some sort. Not thin enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, etc. We allow these unsavory thoughts to hinder us from life’s achievements. Women are amazing friends and spirit nurturers to the world at large…we need to remember to be amazing friends and nurturers to ourselves!!!

love seeing a close-up of your artwork, it’s beautiful!!!!
Other than the mouth looking a little strange in the close-up, a beautiful post for beautiful art.
Ain’t that the truth Elizabeth! You are so right. Not just in princess fairy tales, but in television and movies as well we are constantly fed an ideal that it is only thin, culturally beautiful women who fall in love, get married and have passionate and fulfilling relationships. Of course we know that is entirely not the truth. Thanks for such a lovely illustration and thoughts.
Great post! You have such a lovely blog by the way. Not everyone is a size 4, or 2, or whatever size is currently the epitome of perfection. Everyone is beautiful, and it’s about time people realized it. Happy SITS Saturday, Peace.
The art work on your blog is unbelievable…how creative you are. Wonderful theme for a blog. Thanks for the Monday smiles.
Mary
I love this! You always have the most inspirational posts
Thanks for this–it’s a great way to start off my work week. And you’re absolutely right: love is available to women of all shapes, colors, and sizes. We just have to know how to let it in
Best wishes always.
My hubs was just as into me when I was a size 2 as I was after the bambino when I was a ball of mush. You fall in love with a person’s soul! And maybe their eyes. My hubs has killer baby blues. HA!
It sounds like you have a great husband! We know that you fall in love with the soul (and maybe the eyes…) but so often we convince ourselves that we aren’t as lovable as we really are.
I love this. I find so many brides struggling to find that perfect dress. I think the wedding industry does them an injustice in the availabity of styles for all shapes and sizes. Your artwork shows just how beautiful we all are.
Guess I have my prince charming, but I’d love to have an Edward around here! Thanks for sharing and happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Beautifully and so correctly put!
Thanks for visiting on my SITS day last Monday!
I love your site, and I really like this post. A lot of times I catch myself thinking that no one will love me because of my size. However, if my looks are the only thing that matters to someone, then I don’t think I really want them! I remind myself that God loves me just the way I am, and anyone would be lucky to have a Princess for a girlfriend/wife — think of the fringe benefits!!
