These are the hips
my great-grandmother had.

These are the thighs of my mom.

This is the shape of the women we are.

We are feminine,

A Mother's Day Bouquet of Lilacs

These lilacs are from cuttings that my mother brought to me from my Nana’s old farmhouse in New Hampshire.
I planted them in my yard when I moved to New Jersey, and dug them back up when I moved to my current house in New York.

Every Spring their scent brings back visceral
