So here it is, another American holiday coming up, the 4th of July.

And like most celebrations,
friends & families share food together.
Unfortunately, guilt and stress over
what to eat, what to avoid,
losing control or “going off the diet”
can ruin what could otherwise be a fun time.

Oh no!
Coleslaw and Potato Salad with Mayonnaise.
Baked Beans.
Big Fat Juicy Cheeseburgers. Fried Chicken.
Strawberry Shortcake.
Peach Pie.
Toasted Marshmallows.

Oh yes!
Bare Feet.
Kids running around in the sprinklers
(or fire hydrants).
The smell of neighbors having a cookout.
Light until 9pm.
Kisses in the moonlight.

Perhaps this holiday you can practice
balancing the pleasures of the day,
with the pleasures of the food,
and leave the anxiety & guilt out of the party!
