Imagine the day when we laugh with our friends…
And never once,

I’m so fat.
I hate my thighs.
I really shouldn’t eat this.
I need to lose some weight.
I need to get some exercise.
How many calories are in this?
Diet, diet, diet,
blah, blah, blah…
Many of us have

Life is no picnic if you never enjoy a real one!
The 4 Steps are really just 4 words:
1. Choices.
2. Forgiveness.
3. Moderation.

1. I make healthy choices whenever I can,
but forgive myself when I don’t.

Thin, young women don’t just win the hearts of the hunks
on TV and in the movies,
but they also fight crime,
save lives, run companies,

There are several systems for defining body types.

A common stereotype is that large women

never touch fresh fruits or vegetables.
My great-grandmother Elizabeth
was as stout and sturdy as a woman can be.
She lived on a farm in rural NH and worked hard all day every day.
She filled her family up on greens, beans, apples

It may take some practice convincing yourself this, especially if you’ve ever suffered an eating disorder or been on the roller-coaster of yo-yo dieting.
But I also believe that you can do everything at

This new illustration is for my next book. She represents the concept of being "athletic" at any size or level of fitness.
The idea of an “exercise program” seems so intimidating.
I drag myself to the gym a few times every year,
and then inevitably quit.
Even though I always feel

We really enjoyed the big family meals
with home-cooked roasts and all the trimmings this holiday season.
We loved the pies, cookies, stuffing, gingerbread and latkes while we ate them.
Loved the eggnog, champagne, mulled cider and punch while we drank them.
Loved the fancy Hors D’Oeuvres
